Contemporary and historical views are analyzed by Amin Maalouf, (Léon L'African); Thierry Hentsch, (Imagining the Middle East); Sara Suleri, (The Rhetoric of English India); Nourbese Philip, (Looking for Livingstone, Frontiers) and Ackbar Abbas, commentator on Walter Benjamin and Hong Kong cinema.
